Zurich pensions portal launches

Zurich has announced a new online pensions service for members of its UK scheme.

The new internet-based service is thought to be the first to allow users to access live quotes and to be able to set up their own pensions.

Once online, workers will be able to select benefits, receive and accept quotes and set up a record of payment.

There is also a retirement planner to help people save for their later years and a range of other services, including the ability to view instant statements.

Gillian Mitchell, head of UK pensions at Zurich, said it wanted to offer staff the same level of service as its customers receive.

"We […] decided that the time had come to throw old concepts away and bring pensions administration fully into the 21st century," she continued.

Meanwhile, Zurich has announced the launch of its International Portfolio Bond - an offshore investment product administered in Dublin.
