Barclays mobile banking 'just got better'

Barclays has stepped up its internet presence for those who use its online banking facilities through handheld devices such as mobile phones and BlackBerries.

The bank has improved the appearance and navigation of its website for mobile users, aiming to save them time when viewing their account balances and at-a-glance statements.

Through their handheld devices, customers will also be able to make transfers and payments with greater ease, the bank states.

Digital banking director of Barclays Sean Gilchrist commented: "We are the only UK bank to offer a specific mobi domain site which gives customers the benefit of having web pages designed specifically for viewing on mobile phones."

The bank recently launched its new Barclays' fixed-rate three-year savings bond, which can be opened with a minimum of £25,000 and a maximum of £500,000.
