Natwest student account 2009 is launched

Natwest has launched its 2009 student account well ahead of the new academic term in September, it has been reported.

The bank is offering students who take out its specially-designed account various benefits which may prove useful through their college or university years, including a five-year 16-25 Railcard.

Worth £130 when bought outright, this card allows them to redeem one-third off rail tickets in the UK as well as discounts across a range of retailers.

Other extras offered by the account include an interest-free overdraft of £1,250 during the first year of study and vouchers for £100 off selected ASUS laptops and 50 per cent off the 3 pay as you go mobile broadband starter pack.

Last month, Natwest adopted the services of security software firm Trusteer in order to boost its online security measures.
