Aviva home contents insurance 'now offers homeworker cover'

This news comes after figures from the office for National Statistics revealed that over one million people in the UK now work from home, meaning that knowing that their equipment is covered in case of damage, fires, floods or theft could provide peace of mind to home workers.
Under Aviva's policy, items such as laptops, printers, fax machines, phones and office furniture or equipment are covered up to a limit of £5,000.
"Mums and dads choosing to work flexi hours, the growing number of freelancers and higher levels of redundancy all mean that home working has become a real alternative to the corporate office," said Julie Fromant, home lifestyle manager at Aviva, stated.
In related news, insurance firm Sheila's Wheels this week advised those who like to exercise at home to ensure they make the space as safe as possible first to avoid any possible damage to their surroundings.
