Additionally, it is also giving consumers the chance to snap up benefits for £10, which is worth more than £400 annually - including exclusive travel insurance which usually costs £150.
It also features an interest-free overdraft for the first £100 withdrawn.
"This new current account gives those looking to review their banking needs a different option and one that will give them the highest credit interest rate available on a packaged current account," explained Emma Walkley, manager of the Abbey Current Account.
Abbey is owned by the Spanish banking group Santander and will be rebranded with the group's red and white logo by the end of 2010, it was reported last month.
