New Yorkshire Building Society eBonds introduced

The Yorkshire Building Society has introduced some new eBonds at a time when people may be thinking of saving some cash amid the credit crunch.

Available in terms of two, three or four years, the eBonds offer annual gross interest rates of up to 4.5 per cent.

For example, its two-year eBond offers a gross annual interest rate of 3.5 per cent and a monthly net interest rate of 2.76 per cent.

Its four-year e-bond, which will reach maturity on August 31st 2013, offers an annual AER rate of 4.5 per cent.

"Monthly interest is also offered for those individuals who rely on their savings for income giving them greater choice over how they manage their money," commented Chris Edwards, head of savings and mortgages at Yorkshire Building Society.

The Yorkshire Building Society offers a range of financial services, such as savings accounts, home, life, family and motor insurance and mortgages.
