Baronworth investment product launched

Baronworth Investment Services has launched a three-year, annual-income deposit plan with interest rising from 4.28 per cent in the first year to 5.03 per cent in the third year.

The minimum amount to be invested is £3,600, which is returned in full at the end of the third year, and investments into Cash ISAs and Cash ISA transfers are accepted.

It is offering the plan with the Ulster Bank Group, which is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland stable.

Baronworth believes the deal will be attractive to investors who are keen to avoid risk, as the initial capital is guaranteed and the investment is covered under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme is an independent organisation that can help investors claim money back from financial organisations registered on the scheme.

For instance, last week it declared that Picture Financial Services was likely to be unable to pay for demands made against it, so it is now accepting claims for compensation.
