Nationwide Home Insurance offers two year discount

Nationwide Home Insurance has announced that it is offering a 20 per cent discount on policy premiums for this year and 2010.

If customers take out buildings and contents insurance at the same time with the company, they will receive 20 per cent off the price of the premium and then 20 per cent off if they renew the policy the following year.

Robin Bailey, insurance director at Nationwide, commented that the popularity of comparison sites has led to more customers worrying about price, but they should also consider the quality of insurance cover they are getting.

He said: "For some, the cost of a policy at renewal can take preference over the level of service and cover that it provides."

The offer is open from September 1st and the there is an extra £20 discount for those whose main current account is held with the organisation.

Meanwhile, Confused.com has reported that customers are paying more than they have to when they stay with an insurer and accept its renewal quote, as savings can be made by shopping around.
