Sainsbury's Finance offers new 2.8% phone savings account

The product, which has a maximum deposit level of £500,000, has a rate of 2.8 per cent gross AER for balances of £1 or more.
Commenting on the launch of the product, Helen Cook, head of savings at Sainsbury's Finance, said that the account highlights the firm's commitment to offering "consistently attractive rates" to its customers.
"The savings market is becoming increasingly competitive and we are delighted to offer this new telephone account that not only offers an attractive rate of interest for balances of as little as £1, but also offers a reassuring rate guarantee," she added.
Consumers who wish to sign up for the account can apply to do so by ringing Sainsbury's Finance, which recent extended its Internet Saver offer of 2.9 per cent AER until September 5th, on 0500 40 50 60.
