Tesco Personal Finance advises people to watch travel expenses

Tesco Personal Finance has told consumers to try and save money on travel expenses when they go on a last-minute bargain break.

A spokesperson for the organisation's Travel Money division, pointed out that there would be a huge difference in price between going out for dinner in Barcelona compared to eating out in Cyprus.

They noted how it is not just the cost of the flight that should be considered when going on a bargain break, but also the sort of costs that people will encounter when they get there.

"If families really want to holiday on a shoestring then they need to do their research to really make their money go further," they added.

Research by Tesco Personal Finance showed that over a third of the population has gone on a last-minute holiday over the past three years.

Last month, the company reported that 36 per cent of people who had not yet booked a holiday would not be going unless they could find a last-minute bargain.
