Yorkshire Building Society introduces new fixed-rate bonds

Yorkshire Building Society has launched two new fixed-rate bonds for Brits who want to put away some extra pennies over the coming years.

Its three-year fixed-rate bond offers 4.65 per cent gross annual equivalent rate (AER), while another five-year fixed-rate product is available and comes with 5.3 per cent gross AER.

Both of these offer a monthly interest option, which could be ideal for those relying upon the bond as a source of income.

They can be applied for online, in branches and through the building society's brand new telephone channel, which launched on September 16th.

Chris Edwards, head of mortgages and savings at the company, said that those who are interested should act quickly.

"Unlike the vast majority of other bonds being offered in the market all of our fixed rate bonds have a low minimum investment of just £100," he explained.

Yorkshire Building Society recently offered advice to those hoping to save money for their children's futures as it recommended that child trusts funds are a great way to start saving early.
