Saga urges savers to take a closer look at their Isas

Saga has advised its customers to look closely at there Isas because they may be able to make more out of their savings.

The over-50s financial services provider recently conducted research on its customers, which showed that just one in every 20 is aware that Isa allowances are changing for them on October 6th.

Andrew Goodsell, chief executive at the Saga Group, pointed out that having larger tax-free savings means people can make their money work harder for them and plan what they want to with the return they get.

He said: "We urge the over-50s to take a closer look at their savings and investments and to research the Isas available to them, especially when the limits are increased."

Mr Goodsell noted that more needs to be done to make over-50s aware of the benefits available to them through Isas.

Last week, Saga released figures indicating that 61 per cent of people do not know what rate of interest they are getting on their accounts.
