Shoppers can be "quids in" with cashback sites

A finance expert has recommended cashback websites as a good way to save up for the Christmas holidays.

Jasmine Birtles, founder of Moneymagpie.com, made her comments following a statement by Kelkoo that consumers are missing out on £3.2 billion each year by not using cashback websites.

She pointed out that sometimes there are conditions that must be met before a company will transfer money back, but it is a good way of saving.

Ms Birtles commented that the real way to be "quids in" is for shoppers to use a cashback or air miles card to purchase an item on a cashback website.

"The important thing to do though is to make sure that you are getting the best deal on what you are buying," she added.

People can also choose to donate their cashback savings to charity on some services, which can be a way of donating money to a good cause without really noticing, according to Ms Birtles.
