Silver cover provides protection for veterinary fees, cover for pets taken ill abroad, burial costs and behavioural problems.
In addition, Gold cover adds cover for the cost of recovering stolen or stray pets, kennel fees if the owner is hospitalised, £1,000 holiday cancellation compensation if it is cancelled due to the pet's illness and death from illness or accident.
The Platinum policy includes an increase in the amount paid out in case of cancelled holidays and up to £6,500 a year vets bills.
Each package also includes 24-hour bereavement support and legal and healthcare advice helplines.
Wayne Ewing, market and product manager at Aviva, said: "Having pet insurance gives you peace of mind so that you know that you - and your pet - are protected".
M&S Pet Insurance found earlier this year that 90 per cent of pet owners were aware what they fed their furry friend could be bad for their health and wanted to buy them the best quality food.
