Clydesdale Bank 'is best Scottish mortgage lender'

The institution was given the title at the Your Mortgage Awards, which acknowledged the bank's commitment to its services and providing local people with competitive products.
Presented at a ceremony in London last week, the awards were voted on by the Your Mortgage magazine, which praised the winners for not only surviving in a tough economic climate, but going on to maintain high standards.
Steve Reid, retail director for Clydesdale Bank, said staff at the financial centre are pleased to have received the accolade.
"We are ... delighted to have received the ... award for the sixth consecutive year and this underlines our commitment to providing an innovative and competitive product base for our customers," he remarked.
Meanwhile, the bank recently reported that between May and June this year, it received a 30 per cent increase in the number of mortgage transactions it approved.
