Bonds withdrawn by NS&I

NS&I has announced it has withdrawn two of its bonds from sale.

The three-year and five-year options for its Guaranteed Growth Bonds and Guaranteed Income Bonds have been cancelled with immediate effect.

These product withdrawals come as a result of the products proving to be more popular with consumers than had been anticipated and selling out much faster than had been thought.

Additionally, the financial institution is attempting to ensure a balance is provided for its savers, in accordance with the taxpayer and the wider financial services market.

However, for those looking to invest with the company, there are still other products on sale, including its Fixed Income Savings Certificates and Income Bonds.

Earlier this month, NS&I expressed concerns that British adults were failing to place any extra emphasis on their savings, despite the current instability of the financial climate. Its research showed that the same numbers of people are saving now as were five years ago.
