Buying cars online 'saved £10m'

Motorists have collectively saved £10 million on their vehicle purchases this year, according to autoquake.com.

After comparing their prices to the Parker's guide, the used car website found it has saved customers an average of £1,352 each on their purchases.

This month alone, car buyers have saved £1,069,200 when compared to the Parker's guide.

Used Vauxhall buyers have saved the most money, with a £936,329 reduction in the cost they paid for their vehicles between them.

Those looking for more expensive vehicles also made good savings, with used BMW buyers netting a cumulative saving of £1,666,978.

Founder of autoquake.com Fredrik Skantze said: "We have ambitious plans for the next 12 months and expect to save our customers even more money next year."

The automotive website reported earlier this year that car prices are falling faster online than they do when they are on the forecourt, making it more cost effective for consumers to look for their next vehicle purchase over the internet.
