Nationwide personal loans 'boast lowest rates in UK'

Nationwide's personal loans offer the lowest rates of any others available in the UK, the financial services provider has stated.

According to the bank, from January 5th 2010 it will offer 7.6 per cent APR typical for loans of between £7,500 and £14,999 for up to five years for its main FlexAccount customers.

Based on loans of £7,500 and £10,000 offered by other UK providers, including the high street banks and supermarkets, this means that Nationwide is the country's champion of low interest rates, the firm highlighted.

Richard Napier, Nationwide's head of credit cards and personal loans, commented that this is great news for people seeking the best personal loan deals after the financial sting of Christmas.

He continued: "A personal loan could help reduce monthly outgoings into one manageable debt with fixed monthly repayments, helping people make the most of their hard-earned money."

This news comes after M&S Money announced in November that it reduced the rate on its personal loans from 9.9 per cent to 8.7 per cent APR.
