Scottish Provident critical illness cover 'rated 5 stars'

Scottish Provident's critical illness cover product has been awarded a five star rating by Defaqto.

The product has now received the maximum rating for six consecutive years.

The Defaqto rating, designed to reflect the quality of the financial product and help customers make informed choices, is awarded after analysing 3000 financial deals in 30 product areas.

Scottish Provident's five star rating applies to its Self Assurance range of critical illness cover that comprises critical illness level term, critical illness decreasing term and critical illness stand-alone insurance.

Susan Barclay the head of marketing at Scottish Provident, was delighted with the award, particularly as evidence of sustained excellence over the previous six years.

"Achieving this rating is testament to our commitment to providing consumers with the best quality products and services for the long term," Ms Barclay said.

Earlier this month, Ms Barclay was keen to emphasise to consumers and IFAs the benefits of flexible protection plans in coping with their changing lives.
