Santander reminds consumers of £100 offer

Current account holders have been reminded of an offer from Santander to receive £100 if they switch their account.

By changing to the Alliance & Leicester Premier Current Account, customers will receive £100 cash, on top of a 12 months interest-free overdraft and free travel insurance.

Comparing the overdraft with other institutions' services, the company found that NatWest charges 19.24 per cent on its Current Plus account and HSBC has a rate of 19.9 per cent interest on its account.

With the offer set to end on March 7th, consumers only have a few days remaining to take advantage of the offer.

Helen Bierton, head of current accounts for Alliance & Leicester, commented: "Changing your current account is hassle free with our premier switching service so customers do not need to worry about re-directing direct debits or standing orders."

Having an extra £100 in their bank accounts could be helpful to some consumers, as Santander recently found that 49 per cent of Britons who found the sum in the street when no one was around would keep the money for themselves.
