Matt Hunter, head of money products for confused.com, commented that this was an opportunity for the company to produce something innovative, like Google Earth.
Instead, the decision to sell credit cards appears poorly considered, he stated.
He continued that the facility lacks the features that had made Google such a success, with it offering only sponsored links instead of impartial results.
Furthermore, only superficial product details are shown, with consumers being denied the option to explore the different elements of the product in detail.
"All in all, this system is years behind the service offered by the UK's price comparison websites," Mr Hunter concluded.
Internet users who are on social networking websites may find themselves facing larger insurance premiums in the future, according to the price comparison site.
