M&S insurance tips offered for clock change

David Wells, head of insurance, said few customers were adequately prepared for the change to British Summer Time and would not be going to bed early, which could have potentially disastrous consequences on the road.

He said: "Being tired and rushing around because you might be late … is a dangerous combination when behind the wheel of a car. It could lead to drivers not paying attention."

M&S Car Insurance advises customers to take greater care when driving after waking up the next day and to change the clocks forward before going to sleep.

The company offers a premium car insurance product which provides £1,000 cover for the loss of car keys and locksmith fees.

Defaqto recently warned vehicle insurance customers to check the terms and conditions of their policy to make sure it covers the cost of a brand new car replacement.
