Broadband customers lose out on savings package

Michael Phillips, product director for Consumerchoices.co.uk, said he was surprised that people used separate providers for all three services even though household bills were a top political and social issue.

He said: "There are considerable savings to be made as consumers can save over £200 a year by bundling their broadband package with digital TV and home phone services."

A survey undertaken by Broadbandchoices.co.uk found that a third of 8,000 customers used separate providers and consequently failed to make savings.

People were also advised by moneysupermarket.com to regulate their expenditure when using their mobile phone because it is easy to underestimate certain charges.

This especially applies over the Easter holidays, according to the website, which said many consumers would be travelling abroad ignorant to the higher charges.
