Santander and Alliance & Leicester investments launched 'for cautious risk-takers'

Three new offers have become available to customers who wish to earn a return from the stockmarket, each with either a three or five-year term.

Reza Attar-Zadeh, director of savings and investments, recognised that some investors choose not to cultivate their savings in a high-risk environment and so recommended Capital Guaranteed Investments.

He added: "The guarantee on the return of capital is ultimately provided by Santander … thus giving savers the additional reassurance that their money is with a financially safe and secure bank."

Two options to invest using the Capital Guaranteed Investment and Guaranteed Capital Plus plans are to reduce annual capital gains tax charges outside an Isa or within the account free from tax.

In addition, it was recently noted by Defaqto that Santander's savings account for 11 to 15-year-olds is one of the highest paying children's products in the current market.
