Willis Owen describes Isas as a great method of saving

Willis Owen director Alan Easter has praised Isas as an excellent way for people to save their money.

Mr Easter claimed that the tax-free nature of the products is a key advantage and said those with ready funds "are right" to try to use up their full allowances as quickly as possible, in light of the tax rises that are expected in the future.

"If you are looking to boost your monthly earnings or top up your pension, an Isa really is a great way to save and invest," he commented.

Figures from Willis Owen show that 24 per cent more money has been invested in Isa funds at this stage of the tax year compared with 2007/08.

Furthermore, they reveal that one in three investors opening an Isa since April 5th have already used up their £10,200 limit.

At the end of March, Mr Easter warned that consumers would be "mad" to miss out on securing their full allowance.
