Lloyds TSB mortgage discount offered to current account holders

Lloyds TSB current account holders could qualify for a reduction in their mortgage interest rate, with a representative from the firm suggesting that it is the company's way of developing deeper relationships with its customers.

Head of mortgages at the financial services provider Stephen Noakes made his comments regarding a new deal that gives a 0.2 per cent reduction in mortgage interest rates to those current account clients who deposit £1,000 or more in their accounts each month.

Applicants must also be looking to secure a new mortgage arrangement.

Mr Noakes emphasised how useful this deal is for individuals who want to future-proof their mortgage commitments through savings it offers.

He added: "Rewarding our current account customers by helping to reduce the costs of their mortgage payments is just one of the ways Lloyds TSB will continue to deliver the best value mortgages."

The company released its business barometer this month, which indicated that firms are still cautious, but that there is building confidence in the country.
