Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks introduce 0% transfer offer

A new zero per cent card has been introduced by Clydesdale and Yorkshire banks, which will benefit new customers.

There will be no interest on transfers for the first 16 months of the account and customers will be charged no interest on any purchases for three months.

In addition to the opening offer on the card, there is a 16.9 per cent interest rate when the period ends and no annual fee, which may benefit those who are looking to save money.

Steve Reid, retail director for Clydesdale Bank, said the zero per cent interest rate made the card "ideal for customers who want to reduce their spending as well as reducing the cost of any outstanding debts through a balance transfer".

The announcement has already met with approval from several companies, with Moneynet's Andrew Hagger stating that its shows the balance transfer market is once again "alive and kicking".
