Barclays Golden Isa - Issue 2 'will be available throughout May'

Savers have been told that the Barclays Golden Isa - Issue 2 will be available for the rest of the month, with a representative from the firm urging people to take up the limited offer.

Andy Gray, head of mortgages and savings at the company, made his comments regarding the financial product that offers 3.1 per cent interest, but which will go down to 2.08 per cent from June 2nd onwards.

He stated that May is a popular month for people to consider taking out an Isa and reminded consumers that they do need to be an existing customer to benefit from this deal.

Mr Gray remarked: "We have maintained our best buy rates throughout the peak Isa season and we will continue to do so for the remainder of this month."

Research conducted by Barclays earlier this year showed that 56 per cent of consumers did not intend to take out an Isa this year.
