Co-operative Bank current account customers to benefit from new features

The Co-operative Bank has revealed that its current account customers are set to receive some new benefits for their current accounts, with a representative from the organisation highlighting its dedicated 'switching' service.

Managing director of retail at the Co-operative Financial Services Rod Bulmer pointed out that the firm has seen a 38 per cent increase in current account openings, which he described as a "flight to trust".

Existing customers - as well as new ones that join using the Co-operative Bank's switching service - are set to enjoy a 20 per cent discount on home insurance for the first year of the policy.

They will also be offered a 0.5 per cent discount on personal loans and a lifetime tracker mortgage deal for 2.49 per cent interest at up to 75 per cent loan to value.

Mr Bulmer stated: "In order to help customers who want to switch their current account and try a new provider, we have a dedicated switching service, which removes the hassle for customers."

This comes after the group revealed recently that it has launched a 90 per cent loan-to-value mortgage deal aimed at first-time buyers.
