Saga Internet Saver 'works hard for savers'

People looking for a bank account that works hard to build up returns could opt for the Saga Internet Saver, according to a representative from the over-50s financial services provider.

Ali Crossley, chief operating officer of the firm's personal finance division, made her comments after the new savings account was launched.

She claimed over-50s are especially intent on seeing their savings grow, since they are looking to build up their income for retirement.

With the Saga Internet Saver, people are offered 2.75 per cent interest on balances between £1 and £1 million, with no fees for withdrawals or notice periods in place.

Ms Crossley remarked: "This variable account, allowing customers to access their savings online, is the latest addition to our range of high interest savings options to suit all needs."

Last week, a representative from Saga Magazine highlighted how older people will be happy about the new coalition government's proposal to abolish the retirement age.
