Co-operative fixed-rate mortgages 'have more than just competitive rates'

John Hughes, business leader of retail products for the Co-operative Financial Services, made his remarks following the release of two-year fixed-rate and five-year fixed-rate deals with interest charged at 2.95 per cent and 3.99 per cent respectively.
He highlighted how the company - alongside Britannia - is offering the products as part of its mortgage range with which it hopes to attract all types of homeowners, from first-time buyers to remortgage clients.
And Mr Hughes added: "Not only do these mortgages offer extremely attractive rates, they also provide customers with the added benefits of our consistently high levels of customer service."
Both products are available at up to 75 per cent loan to value.
The Co-operative Bank's intermediary lender Platform recently unveiled a four-year fixed-rate mortgage with a headline rate of 3.99 per cent.
