New savings channel offers hope, says moneysupermarket.com

Savers looking for some form of hope regarding how to achieve the best return from their money should look at the new savings channel on moneysupermarket.com, according to a representative from the firm.

Head of banking at the price comparison site Kevin Mountford described the saving community in Britain as a "beleaguered bunch" as a result of the current inflation and interest rate levels.

In his view, this new service could be useful for consumers looking for the best account for them, as well as ensuring that their savings are secure.

"Our channel brings them some hope, as it empowers them to shop around and maximise their returns by moving their money," remarked Mr Mountford.

Moneysupermarket.com revealed more than 2,200 savings accounts are listed on its comparison facility with many featuring independent reviews.

The same firm recently suggested there are more people switching current accounts at the moment, due to the number of promotional rates and bonuses available.
