Nationwide Fixed-Rate Bond 'good news for savers'

Savers may appreciate the recent increase in the rate of return offered by the Nationwide Fixed-Rate Bond, says the financial services provider.

Director of savings and investments at the firm Robin Bailey suggested these increased interest rates may encourage people to invest their money in a savings product such as this.

He highlighted how recent research by the company showed that 21 per cent of the British public are not putting any money aside at all.

Mr Bailey remarked: "Nationwide's interest rate increase on its two and three-year Fixed-Rate Bond and e-Bonds is good news for savers who are looking for a guaranteed rate of return."

The interest on the two and three-year Fixed-Rate Bonds has been upped to 3.5 and four per cent respectively.

This week, Nationwide revealed it is offering home insurance customers 100 days of free cover if they buy their buildings and contents policies online at the same time, before September 5th.
