NFU Mutual Classic investment bond 'safeguards value of investment'

Consumers have been reassured that their capital will be safeguarded by the new NFU Mutual Classic investment bond on every fifth anniversary.

Chris Linpow, investment specialist at the organisation, explained that this year is the firm's centenary and the team wanted to give something back to their customers.

Feedback from clients showed the group that people value the guarantee of a minimum cash-in amount, which is why this feature was included in the NFU Mutual Classic investment bond.

"In unsettled economic conditions people still want to invest for growth, but with the reassurance of a safe harbour for their investments," said Mr Linpow.

He described how a one per cent annual charge is applied to the product to provide the guarantee.

Last month, NFU Mutual advised consumers that a good alternative to Child Trust Fund accounts are children's stakeholder pensions, since they will help youngsters to save for their retirement.
