Bupa International insurance excited by JCI deal

Following the agreement of a deal with Joint Commission International (JCI), Bupa International insurance has expressed how happy it is to have secured the partnership.

Medical director at the firm Dr Sneh Khemka said the team are excited to be working alongside JCI to develop a quality assurance programme.

He explained that the agreement has allowed the two firms to set up a range of assessment tools that satisfy international standards and which will allow more effective medical evacuations to the best-suited facilities.

"This programme differs from those used by many health insurers because we use medical expertise to set standards for those hospitals and facilities that we promote," noted Dr Khemka.

In his opinion, one of the positive outcomes this should achieve is that standards could improve further.

Earlier this year, Bupa International insurance launched the Gold Superior health plan, which offers one of the most extensive levels of cover at the firm.
