New Barclays student finance package 'focuses on flexibility'

People heading to university should find that the new Barclays student finance package offers significant flexibility, a company spokesperson has claimed.

Head of current accounts at the firm Andrew Harris explained research by the organisation showed that this aspect of finance is very important to modern students.

In his view, this Barclays student finance package is one of the most flexible the provider has ever released, with a dedicated student telephony team, SMS alerts and an interest-free overdraft of up to £2,000.

"This has been designed by students for students to ensure that we give them exactly what they want to help them through university life," Mr Harris remarked.

Customers will also receive a series of offers relating to mobile phones, broadband and laptops - thanks to a partnership with Phones4u - and a Visa card with built-in contactless technology.

Barclays stated this allows people to make payments of £15 or less simply by holding their card near the reader.
