Head of marketing services at the firm Paula Llewellyn explained that the project will allow the public to show what the country's erratic weather means to them.
The initiative has been unveiled after the company published research which indicated that a sunny or warm day is the most important factor in terms of day-to-day happiness for 6.8 million people in Britain.
"We've launched the Lloyds TSB Insurance Weather Photographer of the Year Competition so Britons up and down the country can show us what they love about the climate," remarked Ms Llewellyn.
She highlighted how there is sure to be plenty of interest, as the company's recent study shows how much of an impact the weather has on many individuals' moods.
The same firm announced a change to its Lloyds TSB Home Solutions policy last month, with the excess on claims relating to crimes such as burglary, theft and arson being waived.
