Petplan insurance hails amazing efforts of owners

Owners of animal companions go to impressive lengths to look after their furry friends, says a Petplan insurance expert.

Marketing manager at the firm Alison Andrew made her comments after the company published research showing that 84 per cent of women took on a pet for companionship.

She noted that it is important for owners not to have to worry about the financial costs of looking after their dog or cat if they get ill, particularly since they go to so much trouble to keep them healthy.

Ms Andrew said: "Our job is to give owners peace of mind through our insurance plans, so they can be confident their beloved companion will always receive the best care and treatment."

In her view, the firm's current Pet Plan Census project is among the most important it has ever carried out.

This month, Petplan insurance announced that the Halifax and Huddersfield branch of RSPCA had won the firm's charity prize draw and will receive £500.
