Lloyds TSB current account interest rates 'are long term'

Lloyds TSB has once again pledged to give its customers long-term value on their current accounts, rather than simply offering them short-term 'gimmicks'.

The high-street bank is highlighting the potential advantages of its Vantage accounts, currently available to all of its mainstream current account holders, as well as those who aren't with the bank just yet.

In terms of benefits, the Vantage system enables customers with between £5,001 and £7,000 in their current accounts to enjoy credit interest rates of four per cent, with this figure standing at three per cent for those with more than £3,000.

Meanwhile, those with between £0 and £1,000 are able to enjoy 0.1 per cent credit interest, though Vantage customers are required to deposit £1,000 in their accounts each month and stay in the black at all times.

"Vantage is good for everyone but particularly those that do not have the time to scour the market every six months to ensure they're getting a good deal," Jatin Patel, director of personal current accounts at Lloyds TSB noted.

"It pays a good rate over the long-term. It's as simple as that."

Meanwhile, Lloyds TSB has announced new improvements to its student account, with customers to be offered an interest-free planned overdraft of up to £1,500.
