Asda insurance to launch price comparison site

The site, which is the first price comparison site to be launched by a supermarket, will enable potential customers to search for the most competitive quote on a range of home, pet, car and travel insurance products.
The "Price Search" site will be backed by an extensive TV campaign and in store promotion due to be launched in April.
Asda recently announced plans to reduce its current car insurance by a total of £10 million in order to fit in with its low cost image.
Gev Lynott, director of financial services at ASDA said: "It also is a further illustration that we are committed to cutting the costs for customers - whether it’s on their weekly shop or their annual motor insurance premiums."
Asda’s previous insurance products had been underwritten by Norwich Union but this is set to change with the new website launch.
