Lloyds TSB savings accounts 'not impressing consumers'

The savings accounts provided by the Lloyds Banking Group are not impressing customers in terms of their overall level of satisfaction with the service.

This is according to new research published by Which?, indicating Halifax and Bank of Scotland - which are both owned by the organisation - received some of the lowest scores for such products with both achieving 42 out of 100.

Lloyds TSB did not fare much better, being given a score of 48, which is four points below the average of 52.

Peter Vicary-Smith, chief executive of Which?, urged consumers to find a new provider if an institution is not performing well enough.

"Time and again, the big high street banks are found to be lacking when it comes to good customer service. People who are unhappy with their bank must vote with their feet," he said.

This month, the organisation highlighted how current accounts are not free and end up being paid for with overdraft fees or other charges.
