Loans a better bet for a short break

Bank loans are better for funding a short break than credit cards.

New figures from Sainsbury's bank reveal that one in three people will take a short trip aboard before 2006.

The survey shows that Paris, Amsterdam and New York top the list for most popular destinations.

It seems most people want to get away from London, with forty per cent of adults planning a mini-break, followed by the West Midlands and Scotland.

While it might seem quick and easy to pay for these short jaunts with a credit card, the restorative power of a short holiday could be undermined if paying for it turns out to be a financial nightmare.

Rather than plumping for a credit card, holidaymakers are advised to shop around and find a competitively priced loan. Using a loan can mean more manageable monthly repayments and enable a holiday without the financial hangover.
