Post Office high interest savings account offers alternative to high street banks

Anyone looking for an alternative to the savings propositions being offered by high street banks may want to check out a new product from the Post Office, according to a spokesperson for the firm.

Richard Norman, director of savings and investments, made his comments regarding the company's Online Saver account, which offers customers 2.75 per cent interest.

He suggested the deal shows the range of choice available to internet-savvy consumers.

Mr Norman said: "By launching the Online Saver, we are reinforcing our commitment to offering competitive rates and account flexibility to a wider range of customers."

Individuals wanting to apply for this new savings product should visit the Post Office's official website, with the firm claiming that the application form takes less than ten minutes to fill in.

Last month, Mr Norman described how the firm's Reward Saver offers people the best of both worlds, by having a competitive interest rate and allowing instant access.
