Mortgage Express mortgages reduce rates

Specialist lender Mortgage Express mortgages today reduced the fixed rate of its Lifetime mortgage by 0.1 per cent to 6.89 per cent.

Mortgage Express product development manager Roger Hillier said: "So far this year the Lifetime market has continued to grow steadily. The outlook for the rest of 2005 is very positive - we expect the market to grow by 30 per cent to £1.5bn."

The announcement comes at an uncertain time for the property market with house prices slipping by their largest amounts in ten years and the Government today announcing plans to help more first time buyers into the market.

Mortgage Express is the specialist lending arm of the Bradford & Bingley Group. It provides a range of specialist mortgages, including Buy-to-let, Self Certification and Lifetime.
