Just Retirement notes internet use of pension calculator clients

It is encouraging to see older people using the web, since this will help them to navigate the options available in terms of pensions, a spokesperson for Just Retirement has observed.

Nigel Barlow, head of research at the company, made his remarks following the publication of a study showing that 63 per cent of annuity customers use the internet to shop, while 82 per cent carry out research online.

He said: "The proportion willing to use the internet for research is a particularly bright spot as there is a wealth of information available to help them."

Mr Barlow stated he is "encouraged" by the results of the Just Retirement survey, since the presence of older customers on the web means annuity providers have more of an opportunity to present options to them in a concise manner.

Recently, the firm announced that people may be able to raise their income from pension funds as a result of health conditions.
