Nationwide high interest savings account 'offers flexibility'

People can enjoy great flexibility with a new Nationwide high interest savings account, according to a source from the firm.

Robin Bailey, savings director at the company, made his remarks regarding the launch of MySave Online Plus, which has had its bonus rate increased this week.

Previously, the additional return stood at 0.75 per cent for the first year - on top of a basic rate of 1.5 per cent - but this has been increased to 1.1 per cent, giving customers 2.6 per cent interest during the opening 12 months.

Mr Bailey suggested the account is simple to open and offers a competitive return, as well as boasting the additional benefit of being managed on the internet.

He said: "Our new account is great for anyone who wants the freedom and flexibility of managing their money online."

When the product was launched last month, the Nationwide spokesperson claimed it had been put together with customer feedback in mind.
