New Confused.com retirement calculator tool 'offers help and advice'

A new pensions tool from Confused.com could provide consumers with additional information to help them make decisions about which annuities to put their money into.

Head of annuities at the company Matthew Lloyd claimed the choice could make thousands of pounds worth of difference to how much people receive during their retirement.

The Confused Annuities website allows individuals to contrast how much they might receive from different products of this type.

Mr Lloyd described how delighted he is that Confused.com is the first comparison site to launch such a tool and hoped that it might become the "first stop" for consumers when it comes to annuities.

"Having worked hard to save for their retirement it's important that consumers find the best annuity available to them," he added.

The website features three main sections - consider, learn and compare - designed to educate people about retirement and the options open to them financially.
