Sainsburys Finance urges credit card customers to seek rewards

People should make sure they are getting a good reward on their credit cards, according to a Sainsburys Finance representative.

Stuart McKeggie, head of credit cards at the organisation, pointed out there is plenty of competition in the sector, which has led to "very attractive propositions" being available to the public.

"Shoppers need to make sure they are making their card work hard for them and are getting a reward every time they shop," he said.

Mr McKeggie's remarks were made after Sainsburys Finance published research showing that 21.2 per cent of British people's outgoings on average are put on a credit card, although mortgage and rental payments were taken out of the equation.

The company also found 46 per cent of credit card customers receive no loyalty points for their spending.

This week, Sainsburys Finance announced that customers heading to the firm's supermarkets on Saturday November 20th and Sunday November 21st will receive triple Nectar points on their purchases.
