'Save for Christmas 2011' with Yorkshire Building Society savings accounts

Consumers have been encouraged to use Yorkshire Building Society savings accounts to prepare for next Christmas.

Sarah Lawrence, senior product manager for savings at the company, highlighted how people could receive a return of 3.5 per cent with the Christmas Saver.

"There's no better time than the present to start thinking about putting a little aside to ease the financial burden during next year's festive season," she remarked.

Ms Lawrence suggested the product is great for ensuring that people's capital is working hard all year round, with the investment term finishing on November 30th 2011.

In her opinion, the Yorkshire Building Society Christmas Saver is also attractive because consumers can be sure that their money is safe.

People can sign up for the account with anything from £10 to £1,200, although no withdrawals are permitted throughout the year.

The company recently announced the appointment of a new staff member, with Louise Scott taking on the role of media relations manager in the corporate affairs department.
