Privilege account relaunch from Co-op

The Co-operative Bank has re-launched its Privilege current account to help offer customers savings on green electricity.

The account will now offer customers £35 off the their first year's electricity bill from green power company ecotricity - the bank will also receive a commission from ecotricity for every new customer introduced.

Customers will be offered discounts on a range of green books, games and gifts as well as a reduction in a subscription to the Ethical Consumer Magazine.

The privilege account costs £6.50 a month but allows holders to receive a free £100 overdraft as well as worldwide family travel insurance, sport holiday cover, commission-free currency transactions and discounts on wine and hotels.

Co-operative Bank also offers customers 24 hour online and telephone access to their accounts.
